I enjoyed this book quite a bit. It was an easy read. Geno’s insight into taking time to develop a quality TOS was meaningful, but I most enjoyed his ideas of how to spark interest among affiliates in pushing your product. Geno’s examples helped open my mind to some of the possibilities of affiliate management, and provided a strong springboard in the development of my own unique ideas. I bought this book as place I could start in learning about how to manage an affiliate program. I’m looking to launch my own program soon, and am trying to acquire as much knowledge as I can about the subject before I drop a considerable investment ‘in time and finances’ in the project. Needless to say, I will keep “A Practical Guide to Affiliate Marketing” close by, and plan on rereading it a couple of times prior, during, and post launch. Thank you very much for the valuable resource.

Bruce Brown's The Complete Guide to Affiliate Marketing on the Web is a crash course for those who want to learn how to successfully host an affiliate program on their Web sites or join an affiliate network. This book provides an in-depth look at all of the basics of affiliate marketing, including managing, promoting, and growing programs; helping affiliates who are technically challenged, managing cookies, developing multi-tier marketing, and writing a marketing plan. It's clear the author has a firm grasp of where affiliate marketing is today and where it's likely to be headed over the next few years.

I was worried that this subject would be too technical and, therefore, hard to learn. Fortunately, the author provides simple, step-by-step, easy-to-follow instructions for novices who are learning how to become affiliates. He also describes how to maximize search engine optimization, how to become a power affiliate, affiliate mistakes, and effective ways that to deal with click fraud and scumware (commission stealing applications).

The book is chock full of useful resources regarding website development techniques that will enhance affiliate marketing programs, the best software to use (and it's often free), and ways to select the most reputable affiliate programs. Also, the last part of the book features case studies and interviews with several experts in the field--I learned a lot from reading what they had to say. Though the book is big (nearly 400 pages), I found reading The Complete Guide to Affiliate Marketing on the Web to be profitable and worthwhile, and I would highly encourage anyone who is interested in a good introduction to the subject to read this book. This is the BEST business book I have ever read. Although I am not a professional businessman, I found this book very user-friendly and easy to understand (for anyone who is involved or thinking of getting involved in Affiliate Marketing). I literally could not put the book down.

I was not planning on getting in the Affiliate Marketing but this book made me want to do it and conduct further research on the subject.

This is a GREAT book for those who are starting out their businesses and whose who are involved in it already! Very educational and PRACTICAL in all aspects. This book is bound to improve your business and increase your revenue.

Evgenii Russakov’s book was a phenomenal read. I have a Bachelor’s and MBA in Marketing and up till now, I had not come across a book that was as useful, clear and all encompassing than this book. Although, I’ve read tons of books on Marketing, it was my first book/introduction to Affiliate Marketing. As a new Affiliate Manager I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this book not only gave me a great perspective on the fundamentals of Affiliate Marketing, but it actually convinced me that Affiliate Marketing is what I want to do.

Aside from being easy, and I would go as far as saying “fun” to read (as fun as you can get while still learning something productive), Geno has an amazing writing style that radiates sincerity. I was also drawn by his positive “good guy”, yet, realistic perspective. Geno does a good job of giving the perspective of an Affiliate Manager as well as the Merchant. I definitely recommend this book for new Affiliate Managers & Merchants trying to get a good understanding of Affiliate Management in a short period of time, as well as keeping this as a handy reference for experienced Affiliate Managers & Merchants. I will be reading this a second time, since I’m sure I will catch something I might have missed the first time. I wonder if there are other books by the same author?

This book was written by someone who has actually managed affiliate programs successfully. It’s obvious that he speaks from experience when he gives specific details about how to manage every aspect of your program, including how to structure a sales promotion.

Mr Prussakov walks you through recruiting, policing, motivating, and rewarding affiliates in a way that protects the program from fraud, keeps the promotions and sales campaigns fun and fresh for the publishers, and motivates the affiliates to study the merchant site, learn the inventory, and publish interesting and fresh content about the products.

This is a must-read for anyone who ever thought about managing an affiliate program and a very informative and interesting addition for anyone in the business of affiliate marketing in any position.

I follow up to everything I can find written by Rosalind Gardner including her website and I can say that her material is quite solid and no pitch. This book kept my interest from first page to the last one. These days you can meet lots of gurus in affiliate marketing but from my own experience I learned that from some of them you should stay far away if you don't want to let them use your bank account as their own.

Example: you pay for initial product, never receive this product, your requests for getting money back never reach anybody and on top of that in a month you suddenly find out that this "guru" is now charging you for phantom membership. Your emails stay never responded, your calls never get any effect, so you have to ask your bank to close access to your account for this thief. Your brains get dried off with this fight against the wind and you are not even close to success in online business.

With Rosalind you are safe, she is open in many ways, and all you need is just to work hard for her instructions to bring you that fortune. I enjoyed her book and will definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to learn about marketing online.

This reminds me of the "Dummy" books which usually start off with super basics on a subject. This is the same type of concept.

It talks about selling stuff as an affiliate. The concepts covered are being used by so many internet marketers (and have been for years) that you can't make money doing them anymore, making this book outdated.

For example, the book talks about the "review style" website where you review several like products then provide a link to each product. If someone buys through your affiliate link then you get paid a commission. Nothing cutting edge there.

Pass on this book unless you are a total newbie and know nothing about internet or affiliate marketing. Rating: 2 / 5

This book begins with a quote from the Godfather: “In war there is no substitute for victory.” While that seems like an unusual opening to a marketing text, this book is very hard-hitting and aggressive, insisting that if you want to make this style of marketing work, you have to go for it – but that profiting from such marketing is attainable.

Beginning with basics and soon delving into technical nitty-gritties such as meta-tags, web site optimization and other technical nuances, necessary for such aggressive marketing campaigns as this book is touting.

Finishing out this guide with “Affiliate Mistakes” and case studies makes this book a great resource for anyone wanting to make a living from their laptop, or even those who already have a successful business and simply need a better marketing resource in a “Web 2.0″ world.
